ConAgra Foods Inc.'s acquisition of Kentwood's Elan Nutrition may create 205 jobs in next five years

As reported by the Grand Rapids Press, ConAgra Foods Inc.'s recent acquisition of the Elan Nutrition plant in Kentwood could bring up to 205 new jobs over five years, each paying a weekly wage of $607, according to the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

ConAgra plans to invest $73 million in the plant which produces snack and nutrition bars with a 230,000-square-foot expansion that could create 75 jobs in the first year, according to the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

The Michigan Economic Growth Authority was expected today to grant a tax credit to the Omaha, Neb.-based ConAgra Foods, which acquired Elan Nutrition in April from Sun Capital Partners to grow its snack bar business through new manufacturing capacity and product development capabilities.
