MSU closer to choosing medical school site

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees voted 8-0 Friday to authorize planning for a $70 million medical school building in Grand Rapids, with a medical office complex under development on Michigan Street at the top of the list of sites.

University officials said they intend to locate the building somewhere along a mile-long strip of Michigan Street bordered by College Avenue on the east and the Grand River on the west in downtown Grand Rapids.
