GR's newest senior community gets tax free living

The only senior community to be constructed in a tax-free Renaissance Zone will begin construction next year, in plenty of time for new residents to enjoy years of tax-free living before it ends in 2017. Independent living, assisted living, and nursing care will all be available on site.

According to excerpts from the story:

Beacon Hill at Eastgate is in the enviable position of being the only senior community in the state located within a Renaissance Zone.

The $60 million community to be built on the current Boston Avenue campus of Metro Health Hospital has been awarded the hospital's Ren Zone designation, originally granted to aid development partner The Granger Group in redeveloping the property.

The Ren Zone, which eliminates state and local tax liabilities for residents, is valid until 2017.
