Anheuser-Busch Building is SSP's coolest renovation yet

A circa 1900 building is on its way to becoming the latest rehab project on Grand Rapids' revitalized and thriving Grandville Avenue. Developers now seek commercial tenants to fill the historic building with an eye to adding to the area's entertainment offerings.

According to excerpts from the story:

Second Story Properties recently purchased the former Anheuser-Busch building in downtown Grand Rapids and plans to invest $500,000 to convert it to entertainment or office use.

“We’ve renovated a lot of buildings. This is the coolest,” Cummings told MiBiz.

Cummings said the unique and identifiable structure lends itself to becoming an entertainment venue. A couple of people are interested in buying the building, although Second Story Properties’ first choice is to lease the structure.

“The whole Grandville Avenue area is really coming around,” said city of Grand Rapids Planning Director Suzanne Schulz.
