Grand Haven's economy may be getting a big boost from Amazon.com following the company's purchase of a local audiobook maker. Amazon expects the audiobook firm's management team to remain in place, and have asked them to expand the company's size and employee base.

Brilliance Audio Inc. President R. Michael Snodgrass said he is getting the best of both worlds by selling the Grand Haven-based company he founded 23 years ago to Internet giant Amazon.com Inc.
The company's management team will remain in place and will continue to shape the direction of the company. But at the same time, Brilliance Audio can look forward to further expansion through its link-up with a Fortune 500 company like Amazon.
But officials said Brilliance Audio Inc. will remain in Grand Haven with its current management team.
