$10M ballpark hits homerun in Holland

Holland continues to grow and draw new economic opportunities to the lakeshore. This week city planners gave those efforts a huge boost with the approval of minor league baseball stadium near downtown. A new independent minor league ball team will sign a 25-year lease and call the stadium home.

Work on a proposed 45-acre baseball complex in Holland Township could begin by the first quarter of next year, developers said after the Holland Township Planning Commission Tuesday approved parking and overall site plans for the complex that will occupy the Hart & Cooley property at 530 E. Eighth St.

The Frontier League team could be playing by 2009 at "Ball Park at Federal Square."
