With obesity rates at a near-epidemic level, a Grand Rapids bariatric surgeon has invented a surgery-free weight loss device. Investors are vying for the rights to produce the device and get it on the market.
According to excerpts from the story:

It is inserted through the mouth by a flexible tube called an endoscope and kept in place by three sutures. Baker said the pressure of the lightweight device is enough to convince the brain that the stomach is full.
