City’s first bridge walk a success

According to excerpts from the story:

Commencing at 8:30 a.m. at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids, the walkers set out on a five-mile trek that crisscrossed the Grand River from Fulton to Leonard Street over seven bridges.

"It's more than we expected," said Magniant, secretary to Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell.

Heartwell said he hoped the walk will become an annual event, showcasing the city's riverfront landscape as it encourages fitness.
