Last
week, in a 5-2 vote, city commissioners adopted the new budget, which
appropriates more than $275 million to run the city.
In
some cases, commissioners reversed City Manager Kurt Kimball's and the Citizen
Budget Advisors' recommended cuts, redirecting $715,000 to open three city
pools and $355,000 to help fund local charities and nonprofits.
