The tribal government of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and Gov. Jennifer Granholm say an agreement has been reached that brings a proposed casino in Fruitport Township closer to reality in Muskegon at a racetrack closed in 2007.
According to excerpts from the story:
Two amendments to the tribe's current gambling compact have been agreed on, allowing the tribe to move forward with the process of gaining federal Bureau of Indian Affairs approval to put the land into trust for a casino. The tribe is proposing construction of a casino on the site of the former Great Lakes Downs racetrack.
