Family-friendly atmosphere, military memorabilia distinguish new GR hotel

A hotel owner's vision for family-friendly accommodations—including flat screen TVs and an expansive free breakfast—have become reality in Grand Rapids' latest hotel. An ever-changing display of military memorabilia dating back to the Civil War that honors those in military service is an unexpected plus.

According to excerpts from the story:

Customers won't find adult movie entertainment available in their rooms at the new Country Inn & Suites hotel. Owner Karl Carlton opened his 151-room hotel at 3251 Deposit Drive NE this week with an emphasis on roomy and comfortable accomodations with 32-inch, flat-screen TVs, a free, 100-item breakfast and plenty of pool, hot tub and exercise activity.

I want families to feel comfortable here without anyone worrying about kids getting into adult movies," he said. "We're also a 100 percent smoke-free hotel with reasonable prices and a lot of value for the money."
