According to excerpts from the story:
A hotel operator with longtime ties to West Michigan has purchased the downtown Days Inn, planning extensive interior and exterior renovations.
St. Julien Partners, a Boulder, Colo., company led by Peter Walstra, who once operated Crowne Plaza hotel in Cascade Township and helped develop Holland's Holiday Inn, bought the 175-room property from longtime owner Bob Sullivan.
Walstra, 50, said a multimillion-dollar renovation to the hotel will begin soon and should be completed within a year. St. Julien's only other hotel is the ritzy St. Julien Hotel & Spa in downtown Boulder.
While the Grand Rapids hotel will remain a Days Inn for now, Walstra said a new hotel brand and a new restaurant concept to replace Sully's, the restaurant currently in the hotel, might not be far behind.
