Don't expect a name change, but Eastern Floral is moving its base to the city's West Side.
Company owner Bing Goei is planning to move his headquarters and production center to 818 Butterworth St. SW. The new location will include a retail showroom.
The new location will help him take advantage of the city's growing convention industry, he said.
To get the project off the ground, Goei is seeking city and state approval of a brownfield redevelopment plan to recapture about $406,200 in property taxes over the next 18 years. The plan also would allow as much as $200,000 in state tax credits. The City Commission is expected to have an Oct. 31 public hearing on the request.
