EGR's Efficiency and sustainability awarded

Heightened attention to land use patterns, conservation, and infrastructure were just a few of the benchmarks used to determine that the East Grand Rapids Community Center deserved a prestigious award recognizing the ingenuity behind the building's design.

The city of East Grand Rapids was recently lauded for the efficiency and sustainability of the Community Center project merging many public functions under one "green" roof.

The Grand Valley Metropolitan Council presented EGR with the Metropolitan Development Blueprint Award.

"The city of East Grand Rapids' recent Community Center project is a real study in just how far we have come in our efforts to merge community, efficiency and sustainability in designing our pubic places," according to Bowman.
