Some residents in East Grand Rapids want to relocated Reeds Lake Boulevard to make room for a new waterfront park. Others like the road just where it is. The two perspectives are bound to collide as the city commission debates what, if any, action to take.

Upstairs, at the East Grand Rapids Traffic Commission meeting, residents and some traffic commissioners said they were in favor of leaving Reeds Lake Boulevard alone.
Downstairs, at a Parks and Recreation workshop, those attending wanted to move the road to make more open space for Gilmore Waterfront Park.
The two sides appear to be on a collision course, heading toward a Feb. 4 decision by the City Commission, but City Manager Brian Donovan isn't afraid.
