City approves financial aid for two condo projects

Two downtown condo projects will receive financial assistance from Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority.

The proposed nine-story “Tall House,” a projected $27 million development, will receive a tax reimbursement totaling $821,000. The city also sold the project developers a key piece of land at a discounted price.

A proposal to convert 230 Boardwalk Apartments into the Boardwalk Condos also received tax breaks deemed essential to the $2 million renovation.
