A local company recently launched a multi-million dollar makeover of the Founders Trust building in downtown Grand Rapids. The one-year project aims to bring a contemporary look to a nondescript façade.

In an effort to keep up with and propel downtown revitalization efforts, a local real estate company recently launched a multi-million dollar makeover of the Founders Trust building at 161 Monroe Avenue. The renovation will add polished black granite, glass, and aluminum to the façade. The new look aims to blend in with the modernist style that defines nearby Rosa Parks Circle and the new public art museum rising across the street. Current tenants are expected to stay. They include Founders Trust, Subway, and Hallmark.
