The Grand Action committee continues its history of raising
private funds for major projects in downtown Grand Rapids.
The group is currently helping to finance the renovation of the historic Civic
Theatre and the establishment of Michigan
State University’s
West Michigan
Medical School.
According to excerpts from the story:

Rapids, and visibly excited about Grand Action’s
current project — the renovation of the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. Work on the
century old community theater began in earnest May 1 with multiple shifts
toiling to meet the fall deadline for the reopening of the theater on Division
Street north of Fulton
Avenue.
Grand Action is also focusing attention on the new Michigan
State University
West Michigan Medical
School that will open in Grand
Rapids. “This
(medical school) will become a research university that will work very closely
with the Van Andel Institute,” Frey told MiBiz.
