A local non-profit group has its sights set on revitalizing housing in one of the city's lower-income neighborhoods and, in the process, meet one of eight neighborhood improvement goals set by the city. Over one half million dollars in grant money will jumpstart that process.

The Grand Rapids Community Development Department plans to give the Heartside Nonprofit Housing Corp. $520,000 for its Wealthy Heights Initiative as part of the proposed 2008 Neighborhood Investment Plan.
Heartside Nonprofit Housing Corp. will use the money to revitalize housing along five residential streets north of Wealthy between Diamond and Fuller avenues.
Heartside Nonprofit Housing Corp. will receive the money as part of the proposed 2008 Housing and Community Development Action Plan.
