Hylant Group, Inc., the sixth largest privately held business insurance agency in the United States, has merged with R.W. Barss and Associates of Grand Rapids, Mich., to become Hylant's third Michigan office and its tenth location overall.
R.W. Barss is an 18-year-old benefits insurance agency founded and since operated by Bob Barss. The agency will continue operations under the Hylant name.
"Joining the Hylant Group gives our group deeper resources and greater leverage to enhance service to our existing clients," Barss said. "We chose Hylant because they fit our culture and business philosophy quite well. The name has changed, but how we will continue to personally serve clients will not."
