More than a year after a ten million dollar renovation would be made to the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, hundreds turned out to dedicate it.
The new Meijer Majestic Theater opened its doors for the first time. It is a new name for the theater, but there is plenty inside showing off its history.
An open lobby with views of the city bring in more light than the old Civic Theater has had in the past. Inside the auditorium are 750 brand new red velvet seats and freshly painted architecture. Designers and painters used colors and accents highlighting the theater's early 1900 origin.
