The leading English newspaper in Malaysia is reporting on plans by Grand Rapids office environments company Steelcase to continue its Asia Pacific plans despite talk of a global recession.

KUALA LUMPUR: Leading office furniture specialist Steelcase Inc sees strong growth prospects in Asia Pacific despite the current financial crisis, according to president and chief executive officer James P. Hackett.
He said its Asian business was growing faster than anywhere else in the world.
“Despite talk of recession, Asia is one part of the world that still has growth opportunities and companies are going to continue to invest here because of that,” Hackett told reporters after the launch of the company’s newly-established global shared services centre (GSS-KL) yesterday.
He said Asia offered Steelcase “unlimited opportunity” in terms of helping companies to improve their building facilities and work environments.
