West Michigan’s office market sees steady improvement

The West Michigan office market has shown slow but steady improvement during 2006, giving landlords additional leverage when it comes to rent and concessions, according to a new survey by Grubb & Ellis|Paramount Commerce.

The office market trends survey, which was released Nov. 20, also notes that development along M-6 has already begun to fuel new office growth, primarily around Metro Health Village at the intersection of Byron Center. As the market enters an expansion phase, development along M6 will work its way west toward the Wilson intersection.

Additional interest in “Medical Hill,” the stretch of Michigan Avenue home to a growing number of medical and research facilities, is expected to prompt the need for new office space.
