Stimulus package could fund Grand Rapids housing, police programs

The federal stimulus package numbers aren’t tallied yet but some experts predict Grand Rapids could get millions for housing programs, block grants and more.

According to excerpts from the story:

Most of the money distributed in Michigan so far has been based on existing federal formulas, some of which are weighted to more economically distressed areas. Grand Rapids, west Michigan's largest city, is getting about $23.50 per resident in the four categories combined. Kalamazoo is getting a little more than $22 per person while Battle Creek is getting about $34 per resident.
