The Michigan Legislature and state bureaucrats are listening to West Michigan as never before "because we are speaking with one voice," according to Grand Valley Metro Council Executive Director Don Stypula.
He said that there are a couple of reasons that the greater Grand Rapids area is presenting a united front to Lansing.
"What we have been able to achieve here in the Grand Rapids area is unique to the state," said Stypula. "What we are doing here in terms of regional collaboration and cooperation is head and shoulders above anything that is occurring in Southeast Michigan."
