Rockford Construction unveiled a new forward-thinking company this week, one with the primary focus of construction and on-site management of future wind farms in the Great Lakes region.

Rockford Construction and Spain-based Bergé Logística Energética announced today the formation of Rockford Bergé, an organization combining wind farm construction with comprehensive logistical services. The new collaboration will initially launch in Michigan with intentions to reach the entire Great Lakes region.
Ten percent of Michigan’s electricity, 1,100 megawatts, must come from renewable sources, according to the state’s renewable portfolio standards mandate.
Michigan has the capability to generate more than 16,000 megawatts of power from onshore sources and 330,000 megawatts from off-shore sources, according to a recent Michigan State University study.
