Many kindergarten through fifth graders are pulled away from school because their parents travel for work or have to live abroad to work on a project, and the kids go with them. A West Michigan school has launched a program that allows those kids to keep up on studies, have flexible schedules, and learn languages to help them when traveling.

Zeeland Public Schools Superintendent Gary Feenstra was to raise the curtain today on Innocademy, a program for kindergarten through fifth-grade who have a parent whose work sometimes calls the family out of the country -- or for parents who want their child to gain a global perspective.
The program will debut next fall with as many as 30 multi-age students at Woodbridge Elementary School, plus at least 15 other Zeeland students who are living overseas and will connect with the program's two full-time teachers and director regularly over the Internet.
