Celebrating Seven Years and a Bright Future: Grand Rapids Young Professionals

The Grand Rapids Young Professionals (GRYP) is an organization founded to create networking opportunities for the “Under 40” business community. For the past seven years, it has grown to a membership of thousands with focuses on professional development, leadership, volunteerism and community service.

"GRYP draws a wide variety of individuals and professions, so it's important that we keep our programming diverse,” explains President Amanda Rogalski. “From volunteer opportunities to social networking to personal and professional development, each GRYP member finds their own niche and plugs into programs of interest to them. GRYP events offer the opportunity to network socially and professionally with the future leaders of Grand Rapids."

There is no membership fee or requirement to attend meetings. In fact, the entire organization including the Board of Directors and Advisory Board are all volunteers who come together to manage the numerous monthly events, activities, meetings and classes available.

Advisory Board Chairperson Mandee Rick encourages those just joining the workforce or who have just relocated to the area to participate. "Beyond access to the programming," she says, "being a member of GRYP is a way to get to know the community around you and is an excellent avenue to become acclimated to Grand Rapids if you are new to the area."

GRYP is celebrating its 7th anniversary with one of their famous Unwind events on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 5:30 p.m. at Eve, located on the fourth floor of The B.O.B. Join the nonprofit organization for some fun and build your networking portfolio -- and perhaps even find a niche in community service with GRYP.
