Dining Out for Life: Grassroots event supports Grand Rapids Red Project

Today Grand Rapids can eat out and do some good while adding to their dining tab as the Grand Rapids Red Project participates once again in the international fundraising event raising event Dining Out For Life.

What make this international event stand out is not just the love our local restaurants offer to the event by hosting it, but the dollars raised will help our local HIV/AIDS service organization, Grand Rapids Red Project, continue to perform the vital role it plays in our city.

Dining Out For Life was created in 1991 by an ActionAIDS volunteer in Philadelphia and has since grown to be celebrated by 60 cities throughout the United States and Canada.

Here’s how it works: You and your friends/lovers eat out at any of the local participating restaurants, and after you have cashed out, you can be confident that a generous portion of your food bill will be donated to our local Grand Rapids Red Project.

You can even make an additional donation if you like. Each venue will have hosts to answer any questions you may have about the work being performed by Grand Rapids Red Project and how they are serving the infected and affected members of our society with HIV/AIDS.

To date, more than $4 million dollars has been raised to support the missions of 60 outstanding HIV/AIDS service organizations throughout North America. With the exception of the annual licensing/participation fee, all money raised in these cities stays locally.

If you want to see who is participating this year, be sure to browse through the website and use the "Participating Restaurants" link to plan your Dining Out for Life restaurant. There are plenty of breakfast, lunch and dinner establishments this year, so you can eat out all day and do good at the same time.

Even if you're not able to Dine Out on Thursday, April 28, you can still support the cause by making an electronic donation, right now.

Admission: Donate by eating or through this link
