Flavor616 Inaugural Party: Raise a Glass, Shake that Ass

Saturday, Jan. 12, 6:00 p.m.
Have you ever been seated next to an overly loud foodie in a pub pontificating about the lack of culinary options in our region, only to wish you could fire back a list to counter their claims?

This week, a new magazine debuts, promising to make it easier for your stomach to gastro-navigate our oft-dissed culinary landscape. But how does Flavor616 stand out from other magazines?

“The big difference is that we are a little edgier than most and border on rated-R side of things,” says Rod Glupker, who acts as co-publisher of Flavor616 with Liz Smigiel. “We only share stories about food, beer, wine and whatever… with the whatever to include everything foodie from chocolatiers, popcorn poppers, coffee, etcetera."

The new issue will begin hitting the pubs and coffee houses in the coming days, but if you want to celebrate the launch of the new magazine in high style, then you will have to head to Louis Benton Steakhouse where the taps will be taken over by three choice brews from Perrin Brewing company (featured in Flavor616's debut issue). This free event will include delicious appetizers from Louis Benton as well as musical entertainment by DJ Biff Tannen.

In this first colorful and photo-rich issue, you will discover articles on former Brooklynite Jarred Sper of the Perrin Brewing, a jaw-dropping article on Muskegon restaurant Mia & Grace, a piece on Getting Lucky, and a host of simply mouth-watering deliciousness. There is even a 2013 BBQ prophecy from Rapid Growth’s very own pittmaster, John Rumery.

So come out and raise a glass with us as we welcome a new player in the publishing arena. The party will be hopping, so be prepared to shake that booty. It’s Rated R for Release.
