Live Coverage: The Best of Lines Drawn Now

Saturday, Feb. 22, 7 - 11 p.m.
As a former organizer of Live Coverage for many of its early, single-digit anniversary years and as a former (as well as current) 2014 participant in the wildly popular Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts' annual fundraiser, there is little I can add to the fact that, for one night, you will have a chance to meet more than 50 artists who have donated their time and talent to make this night an affair to remember.

Works of art will be created in front of you that you can bid to purchase, and later in the evening a live auction of curated art pieces will go up on the auction block as well.

Best of all, this is a chance to connect with an artist community that is diverse and covers many spectrums. If you have even felt that Grand Rapids was Bland Rapids, a night at UICA's Live Coverage should kick that memory to the curb once and for all.

Simply put, as one of the artists as well as a member of this community for three decades, this event's roster of artists will make anyone feel quite proud of the talent here as well as what can be accomplished when we come together around a common cause of supporting the contemporary artists of our city.

Music by 800beloved of Detroit and a performance by Aerial Tactic -- A Break Dance Crew of the Cook Arts Center -- will be also featured at Live Coverage 2014.

Admission: $50 UICA Members | $65 Non-members
