Jeffrey Lewis: Anti-folk Superstar Artist

Sunday, Nov. 18, 8:30 p.m.
How often can you say you are going to hear a musician that is also a comic artist (and very good at both)?

On Sunday night, The Division Avenue Arts Collective (The DAAC) will welcome anti-folk legend and Fuff comic book creator Jeffrey Lewis to their intimate stage in the Heartside neighborhood.

Lewis uses folk music to deliver what feels like inflatable rubber glove punches until you really unpack his lyrics to discover what a brilliant singer/songwriter he truly is.

Fans of Lewis can expect to hear a collection of favorites including "The Last Time I Did Acid I Went Insane," "Williamsburg Will Oldham Horror," and "The Chelsea Hotel Oral Sex Song."

His anti-folk style is sure to be a hit at The DAAC when you consider that the art event right before Jeffrey Lewis’ show is from Found Magazine.

Brothers Davy and Peter Rothbart return to The DAAC on Sunday for a one-night-only exhibition of their 10th Anniversary Tour. It is also a chance to hear Davy read from his latest book, My Heart is an Idiot. The Found Magazine event begins at 7 p.m. and has an $8 admission fee.

Admission: $10, All Ages
