Bruce and Becca Ling Benefit: Community Givers, Now in Need

Sunday, May 12, 2 - 7 p.m.
When the rivers rise, flooding will occur. For those that live in the low-lying areas of our city, it is a given.

Bruce and Becca Ling of the wildly popular American folk roots act Hawks & Owls have fled their riverfront Comstock Park home before to avoid the rising waters. However, when they evacuated during the recent flood, they never expected someone would take advantage of their abandoned home .

Now facing a vandalized home where cherished heirlooms as well as fixtures and glass windows have been smashed out, this West Michigan couple, known for performing at so many causes and benefits in our city, are the subject of a fundraiser hosted by The Intersection with some of the area's biggest voices. The May 12 benefit concert features appearances by Conklin Ceili Band, Nobody's Darlin', Max and Ruth Bloomquist, Oat Bran Boys, David Molinari, Ralston Bowles, Drew Howard, The Billies, Blue Water Ramblers, Susan Picking, Celtic Woodwinds, Lake Effect, and Hawks & Owls.

After the benefit show (and for an additional $20), stay and listen to Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven with special guest Dutch Henry.

Please visit Grand Rapids' John Sinkevics website, Local Spins, for ways to get involved and make a generous online donation.
