Lakeshore Art Festival: The Arts are Born Again

Friday, July 5, Noon - 7 p.m. & Saturday, July 6, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
With all the action happening along the lakeshore these days, it is hard to decide where to land. A betting person would tell you that over the holiday weekend, you will want to point your GPS north and head for Muskegon where a reinvigorated Art in the Park event has been reborn as the Lakeshore Art Festival.

This newly named festival seeks to expand upon that long tradition of focusing on the arts. Using a new method of curation, event organizers considered a host of categories -- from fine art to general craft -- representative of the artisans of our region. In order to qualify to exhibit, vendors also must create handcrafted items. The result is a very large and diverse set of vendors ensuring something for everyone on every budget.

In addition to their focused attention on the vendors, the event will have street musician performances, a craft tent, and Children's Lane featuring activities for the whole family.

The careful restructuring of this event on the lakeshore is attracting lots of interest from various groups and investors. Need proof? DTE Energy Foundation came on board as their lead sponsor. It is time to take a trip to downtown Muskegon.
