The Ragbirds: Last Chance (For Now)

If you have wanted to see the experience the raw energy of a live Ragbirds show again, then one of the last times to do so this summer is fast approaching.

This upcoming stop at Founder's Brewing Company is important for two main reasons.

First, the 'Birds are touring in support of their newly released live CD, We Belong to the Love, which not only includes an honest to goodness capture of their live concert sound, but also two brand new songs: "Lucky Rhythm" and "We Belong to the Love."

But what makes this release and concert in Grand Rapids so amazing for us is that the new release was partially recorded from their last concert at Grand Rapids' Pyramid Scheme. Think of this as their coming home concert to share the fruits of their creative labor.

The band will also be selling copies of the new release on Saturday night, so bring a few extra bucks to avoid shipping charges and buy it from the source.

And the reason it is one of the last times this summer you can see them live? It isn't that the band is breaking up -- far from it. They are expanding… well, sort of expanding. Lead singer Erin Zindle is expecting her first child later this summer and will cease touring August 1. (The 'Bird's are scheduled to return to performing sometime in the fall.)

Before arriving at Founders’ on Saturday night, the 'Bird's will have just played for nearly  2,000 fans in their hometown of Ann Arbor for the city's annual summer festival.
