BRU: A New Kind of Beer Event Debuts Here

Saturday, Nov. 9, 7 - 11 p.m.
Having watched a friend battle leukemia many years ago, I know firsthand the importance of having a very strong support system around the patient.

And for those who do not have a support system, it is nice to know that organizations like the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan, whose newest regional office was opened in downtown Grand Rapids this past May, are committed to providing compassionate and personalized support to people in Michigan affected by leukemia and other related diseases.

And while they hosted a “signing our lease” party last March before opening their doors to the public, their first big fundraiser since opening is BRU Fest Grand Rapids – a fundraiser arriving at the DeltaPlex this weekend with all proceeds benefiting the foundation.

Since it is a specialty beer event with a focus on Michigan beer, Bell’s Brewery of Kalamazoo will be providing more than 17 of its craft beers, including a few styles that are rarely available to the public. This access alone is worth the cost of the ticket.

With each paid admission, attendees will receive ten beer tokens, four tickets for Buffalo Wild Wings and/or Bagger Dave’s Legendary Burger Tavern’s food, a souvenir BRU Fest 2013 mug, and free giveaways, as well as live entertainment from local acts to bands from around the state.
.
This event is very popular in Southeast Michigan, where their version of BRU has sold out each year over its short three history.  Now in Grand Rapids and with a solid core of Michigan beer fans, this is sure to be a hit here ever November.

Admission:  $39.
