Growth is driving local firm's expansion

MINDSCAPE at Hanon-McKendry recently promoted three of its employees to better align the organization with its double-digit pace of growth over the last several years.

Jeff Bell has been promoted to director of digital marketing services, Rebecca Dutcher to director of business development and Rebecca Blanchard to director of development services.

According to Mike Simon, VP of operations, the promotions will help with organizational efficiencies, which became especially needed after his company, Venux, was bought by MINDSCAPE at Hanon-McKendry in 2010.

Merging the Venux team into the existing organization not only spurred business, but also added larger projects of increased complexity. "Growth can be hard to manage," says Simon. He says the promotions put in place the organizational foundation for a big 2012 and beyond, which also includes the opening of a satellite office in Detroit.

Pete Brand, co-founder, says the Detroit office should add to their talent pool and eventually create more jobs in the not to distant future. "We love the state of Michigan," he says. "We  feel Detroit is coming back to life and  wanted to be one of the first companies to help bridge the gap [between the east and west sides of the state]."
