Mexican Coca-Cola develops a cult-like following for its unique flavor

The Grand Rapids Press reports that a growing number of West Michigan grocery stores are now offering customers the latest big-selling drink: Mexican Coco-Cola. Fans are willing to pay a premium for the soda they say is less sweeter than regular Coke.

According to excerpts from the story:

Some fans chalk it up to drinking from a cold glass bottle. Others credit the cane sugar that sweetens it, in contrast to high fructose corn syrup used in U.S. production since the 1970s. Whatever it is, Mexican Coke has developed a cult following.A Facebook page dedicated to the drink has thousands of fans claiming allegiance to Mexicokes.
