SEED Network releases national standard that measures social impact of construction projects

As reported by Business Review West Michigan, a national group has released a groundbreaking social-impact standard for designers that measures the social impact of construction projects.

According to excerpts from the story:

The SEED Network's mission is to "advance the right of every person to live in a socially, economically and environmentally healthy community."

"What I like about the SEED certification is it kind of bundles (the triple bottom line) and makes it easier to understand," said Greg Metz, past president of the American Institute of Architects Grand Valley chapter and a principal at Lott3Metz Architecture in Grand Rapids.

Metz believes West Michigan will understand the goals of SEED more than many other areas of the country, but he said the social aspect is the one most people still struggle to incorporate.
