MEDC incentive provides catalyst for new jobs

Thanks to a $310,000 incentive from the MEDC for a $10.5m expansion, Quality Edge, Inc. will be adding 78 new local jobs over a three-year period at its Walker location.

The expansion will allow the firm to manufacture a new metal roofing product line (scheduled to launch spring of 2013), and the needed jobs will range from production and shipping to engineering and managerial.

According to Annette Seajet, director of HR at Quality Edge, the organizational culture is customer-centric and looks for individuals who understand the importance of innovation and creativity. "Customer service and innovation is a big part of what we do," she says. "It is at our heart."

Seajet adds the firm has already begun hiring and has open positions in customer service. Interested individuals can apply by visiting the headquarters and picking up an application in the lobby. All future jobs openings will be posted online and eventually listed on the firm's website, which is being updated.

From the perspective of The Right Place, Senior Business Development Manager Sue Jackson is delighted, adding, "It is always good news when new jobs are added to West Michigan by a local company that is growing."
