New kind of lofts expected to add 200 jobs in Monroe North

A $9.7 million construction and rehabilitation of the former Imperial Metals building in Monroe North aims to add more variety of style to the downtown office market. The project ultimately will make 60,000 square feet of space available in Monroe North.

Modeled after the Chelsea Market in New York City, developers aim to transform the former Imperial Metals building into big city-style loft space. The project recently received state and local urban redevelopment tax incentives. Founders Brewing Company could be the first tenant.
